OpenWapp is an unofficial WhatsApp client created for Mozilla’s Firefox OS smartphones, built to bring core messaging features to devices that lacked an official app. It allows you to register your phone number, sync your contacts, and chat one-to-one or in groups. Users can send and receive text, photos, voice notes, and other media, manage notifications, and keep conversations in a lightweight interface optimized for low-resource phones.

Because it relies on WhatsApp’s private protocols, OpenWapp’s functionality depended on server behavior outside the project’s control. With changes on WhatsApp’s side and the closure of the Firefox OS Marketplace, the app has been discontinued, and modern logins are unlikely to work. Any remaining builds or source code are best treated as archival or educational. For current messaging needs and ongoing security updates, use the official WhatsApp applications on supported platforms.

OpenWapp is developed by OpenWapp Team and is used by 1 user of Software Informer. The most popular version of this product among our users is 1.4.
